Pizzazz

1. Recently a blogger used this word in a comment.

2. It has a Pizza in it but the etymology of this word denies any connection.

3. Pizza comes from Italian cuisine. It was called picea, a term for flatbread which later had toppings.

4. Pizzazz has a beautiful symmetry around letter a. There aren’t many words which have four zs; couple of them on either side of a.

5. It comes from a word razzmatazz which also had four zs. It was derived from another word razzle-dazzle which had a connotation similar to the current word pizzazz.

6. Do pizzas have pizzazz in them? Interesting!

Thought Experiments!

Would you like to live your life again without being able to change anything in it at all?

1. I was going through responses to prompts when I came across this question on one of the blogs. It’s obviously not a response to the prompt but an interesting thought experiment nonetheless.

2. The author reports that none of the participants in their survey including themselves wanted to do that.

3. Why?

4. Repitition is hell.

5. Most of the science fiction in which you get time machines-appeal because you are offered a way to alter course of events. To rectify errors.

6. Can we say that almost all people hate their lives? No. They certainly lived once and now they want to move on with different set of experiences.

7. Another similar thought experiment which I conducted was asking a few people if they wanted to swap places with people. If they wanted to live lives of others.

8. There are accounts of people in Near Death Experience community who talk about experiencing their life events as an excercise in which they experience multiple viewpoints for same events.

9. Most of the participants in my survey didn’t want to live lives of others. Their own lives have difficulties which are insurmountable despite being familiar with them: who knows what other lives might bring.

10. Other than that: love for Self disguises itself in the form of love for forms in such a way that no life form wants to live life of other life forms.

11. Do humans want to become gods? No. Gods have their own sets of troubles.

12. And why settle for gods?

13. Does a fly want to become a human being? If a human being doesn’t want to become a fly, why should a fly want to become a human being? They all have their universes.

14. In all magic tales where one type of psyche experiences metempsychotic existence of other life forms: this dissolution of boundaries is felt.

15. Think about consciousness of a house, a colony, a city, a nation, a tribe, a community or a planet like Gai. Think about solar systems and galaxies and universes. A person is already a complex organism housing so many and its persona is dependent on feedback from environment of which it’s a part.
