Kristina Van Hoose!

1. This is a short biographical sketch. The idea is to move forward. If members who joined later on have an idea about past members they would feel familiar with forum and its foundation.

2. I am the person who came up with the idea for the forum. I was the most active student in Blogging 101 Alumni August 2015 class organized by the WordPress blogging university. I let her host the site as it was a free gift from WordPress for students who wanted to stay connected and offer a similar type of experience they had during the class: that of warmth, belonging and helping each other growing together.

3. She was technically sound. She had a butterfly icon as her profile picture. She helped a lot of people.

4. She was reserve by nature and hoped my extravagant extraversion would balance out her introverted intricacies in order to facilitate forum members.

5. Her brother is technically sound. I don’t know her brother.

6. Her website with the name ‘Kristina Van Hoose’ self hosted on WordPress has a tagline for which she did a poll on this very forum. Among two options “growing up shouldn’t be boring,” and “growing up should be optional,” the later was recommended by me.

7. She went on a break from which she didn’t come back since 2016. She deleted all my comments on her website.

8. She went to watch Supermoon of 2016 with her brother on a jeep. She had freckles. She could sketch. Ate pork.

9. She went to Spain on a trip. She wrote about it.

10. Some strange connection in my mind connected her to Izza Ifzaal- a blogger from Pakistan who was writing poetry in those days. Kristina said she was from USA. I saw a strange dream in which she was wearing a white shirt and dream guide said she was from Brazil. Telling her about that dream was one of the reasons she conspired against me.

11. Her cat’s name was Smore. She participated in NaNoWrMo and NaPoWrMo. Her stories fascinated me when i first read them.

12. This was the first in the series of biographical sketches of forum members which might or might not continue as we move forward. My notes are too autobiographical, therefore writing about myself isn’t needed. Still, if you need: ask me anything and i would let you know here itself. Hiding nothing.

13. If Kristina or anyone else thinks this note is inappropriate: let them comment here and tell me which part offends their sensibilities. I would edit that part out of this equation. KVH is an assumed name. Van stands for a feudal European lord. Whose mystery is this is anybody’s guess.

A Tohu Verse:

Kristina Van Hoose

Whose name is assumed

Meditation ions media

Diadem demogorgon gonfalon

Falchion ionosphere here there everywhere

Wherewithal thalassi Tallahassee

Seesaw sawdust dustup backup

Welcome back!

1. I knew Catherine. I used to visit her site in those days. She maintained her site very well. She has a wonderful sense of humor.

2. I know Vishakha who commented today. You should change your profile picture Vishakha ( 😂 ): it has been four years.

3. Another Visakha was a companion of Vikram Bishla and Piyusha in the epic ‘Bhaalu episode’ after which i was asked to step down:

It happened like this:

We used to chat and joke around a lot. It always takes time and energy and almost always makes some people jealous. Some of my comments were not liked by Piyusha and she taught me that i should first make fun of myself. Later, Vikram’s interaction with Visakha got bitter and Piyusha wanted me to take an action against Vikram. I left it on discretion of two of them. The event resulted in my stepping down from admin as well as leaving this forum and later on i deleted couple of my blogs.

4. I knew Jackie well. Hello Jackie! We interacted a great deal. You used to contribute regularly.

5. Collate Bates took my side. There can’t be any doubt about it. Along with admins, Meg, Pam and Oneta she was one of the members i can never forget. She fought for me when Paul(now deceased) was also voicing his opinion in my support. I was disappointed to hear the news of his demise. It’s true that language used by some of the members including Paul wasn’t upto the mark. Yet, i can’t thank Collate enough for her support. Thank you! 🙂

6. Ankit Dhakal was name used by Sandeept. I asked the meaning of his name as i used to ask everyone else. His post on Hanuman being mutant did seem like a new perspective and idea and i appreciated it. Even used to discuss it as an idea with others in offline discussions. He was a regular contributor in the beginning and later i also saw him on Twitter. Then he changed his name to Sandeept. I also changed names from Vibrant to Anand to Dancinglightofgrace.

7. Among other regular contributors here: Ananya, Ishita, Meg and Wannatalkevanescent are missed. Even Shine Ferrer aka Sandra. The 13 words story was initiated by a suggestion from Keith Garth the poet who wrote a verse about ‘squint’ as he was jealous of some character. He suggested us to use iambic pentameter. Recommended sites where we can count syllables easily.

8. There are many people i miss. I would keep recalling them. Especially mysterious Kristina Van Hoose and her cat Smore. Pam, Rashmi and Piyusha.

9. If we continue to be active here: power struggles regarding how the forum should function are likely to happen. I would ensure the forum doesn’t die unless WordPress stops hosting it. As long as i have resources. If my posting activity here since October 16th is used as a hint towards how i felt towards this place or forum members in general: you know i always wanted this place to be vibrant. It was a mistake to let Kristina host the site. It was a mistake to write an email to her. It was a mistake to trust Rashmi who joined hands with Piyusha and Kristina behind my back. Therefore: i would be totally transparent. Not interacting with Sandeept or any other admin via email. Let everyone know what’s going on.

10. Many people here wanted it to be a private forum like it was in the Blogging101 Alumni class. I wanted it to be a public forum.

11. The simple logic why nobody else other than me wrote here more than on their personal websites: i considered it my forum. They didn’t. If others write here as much as i do: it would mean greater activity, more life and more interaction.

12. This doesn’t mean that we should betray original intention behind the creation of this forum: which was to let new bloggers find a place where someone(maybe not as romantic as i was) might be available to say hello or help them learn basics to improve their blogging skills. But without any vibrant activity there remains no life in a place and all hope for helping anyone dies. That’s why i wanted it to be friendly and interactive like our class was.

13. Having tasted bitter and sweet i no longer aim to help all people all the time nor do i believe i can be superhumane but i would try to be normal. Sharing posts that i like. Being myself. Not intentionally hurting anyone but yet being earnest in interactions.

14. I had no intention of becoming an admin in short or long run when i joined this forum on October 2020 but i certainly wanted more activity here. It’s my baby. It’s our baby and it’s alive.

MP Gandhi Smarak Nidhi!

1. Has only three registered members.

2. Is an NGO.

3. Other than the two people I know, there are no secretaries.

4. I only once saw Bharatendu Prakash when I was reading newspaper in healing room in 2018. She weared blue that day. Cognitive dissonance.

5. It’s Sanjoy Singha not Sanjay Singha as is so very popular.

6. Surprisingly this NGO has taken no government funds. It’s a self sustaining organization.

7. Registration date adds to 9 and number is 217 which adds to 10.

Reblog: Only Three More Days To Ask Me Anything

I’ve not seen Cathy here at the forum for a while but guessing she must be super busy with her recent book launch – best wishes Cathy (and all) and hope you don’t mind my sharing mention of Cathy’s event here via this reblog…

[NB: it was a reblog frame, until I edited the post title…doh! so…]
Cathy’s post can be found at this link to her blog:

The event Cathy is participating in runs until Thursday mid-afternoon (guessing that’s a US time zone…?) and the website hosting the event, apparently with a countdown timer displayed, can be found via the link her blogpost (from the link provided above).

I’m wondering, for some future time beyond the event closing … (a) if @cathylynnbrooks might spare a few minutes to tell us something of her experience of running this participatory event… and wondering, what will have been the most unusual or unexpected question you were asked during the event?……
… and in the here and now… (b) what might I think of to ask if I take a virtual hop over to participate whilst there is still time aplenty…

Cathy Lynn Brooks

I’m participating in an even that runs until Thursday at 2:00 p.m. It’s called Ask Me Anything! The more questions, the better.

Please go HERE and ask a question. It’s easy. They even give you suggestions to ask.

I’d really appreciate your participation!

Thanks so much!

Cracked Rear Viewer Turns 6 Months Old!

Since I’m new here at “Blogger’s World!”, I thought I’d introduce my site via today’s 6 month anniversary post. Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome!

cracked rear viewer

It seems like just yesterday little CRV was born, but it was actually June 26, 2015! On that date I debuted my first post, a look at the early Peter Lorre noir The Face Behind the Mask. I was so green at the time I didn’t even know how to add pictures! Cracked Rear Viewer has come a long way since then, with a loyal following that seems to grow week by week. There’s now 154 posts (including this one) to choose from, covering everything from horror and science fiction to Western and gangster dramas to comedy classics. Though my main focus is films from the 1930’s to the 1970’s, I’ve occasionally stepped out of that box to look at movies from other eras. I’ve added ongoing series like CLEANING OUT THE DVR, THAT’S BLAXPLOITATION!, PRE-CODE CONFIDENTIAL, and the latest, ROCKIN’ N THE FILM WORLD, as well as NEWS & NOTES…

Hello everyone, my name is Josh and I have been graciously added to this forum by Anand. At his behest, I’d like to share a few things about myself.

I am a relatively new blogger, and I use WordPress to share information about two of my favorite topics: wildlife and human psychology. Until this past June I was studying to become a mental health counselor, thinking I could advocate for the natural world as a hobby. But after performing volunteer research concerning jaguars for the Center for Biological Diversity, I realized I had it all wrong. So now I am applying to graduate programs related to the emerging field of conservation psychology. This will allow me to use my knowledge about human behavior to create a better future for people and wildlife.

In the meantime, I am happy to share my passions with all of you. I am currently spending lots of time reading about big cats and psychology, and I write about what I learn on my blog: The Jaguar and its Allies. I also look forward to learning more about all of you. WordPress has enabled me to connect with many interesting people around the world, and I hope to be able to connect with you as well.

Once again, I would like to thank Anand for inviting me to join this forum.

My name is Genevieve I recently started blogging here on WordPress. My blog is Just a lady with a blog. Even though I’m so new to this and really wasn’t sure what I wanted to blog about, I gained a following very quickly. I really just started searching out blogs and following people. Lots of those people came and checked me out liked what they saw. I still don’t know what to categorize my blog as maybe lifestyle? I have been writing most of my life mostly song writing, some short stories. I started a novel and was close to completion when a small accident wioed most if it away. I have been in a writing slump ever since. I started this blog as a baby step into writing again. I missed out a lot in blogging 101 it ended up being such a busy time for me. It’s like I got into it finally and it was over! I really appreciate this forum I think it’s a resource I will be loving as I’m still just trying to navigate my way through the blog world. I think that’s why I chose the name I did, like I’m just another lady with a blog in the vastness that is. I’m so glad I’m here though I’m enjoying being a part of this community even more so than some of my personal social media!

Thanks for inviting me Anand @thinkerv0
