Chat Room?

Dear friends,

I have been getting suggestions about developing a chat room here on the forum so that uninterrupted light-hearted discussions might be carried on.

I have been to many forums with chat rooms but here since we have everything front-end I wonder how that might be possible. If tech-savvy friends know a way around let’s know 🙂

This was on my mind for many days so I have put it before you today. Let me know what you think 🙂

Is there anyone else in…

Is there anyone else in this forum who loves to color? My new coloring book prompted this week’s post…

What’s my purpose?

Hey everyone. I’ve got a lot to say but I hope you’ll read and take a moment to help me out and give me some #feedback .

One thing I’m struggling with is: What’s my purpose? Why am I blogging? What do I have to offer to world that’s different from everyone else? I think I just have too many possible angles, but none is unique on it’s own – perhaps a combination could be unique? I would love if you would take a moment to have a conversation with me and help me find my way…

1. I’m thinking I could write about crunchy travel, light travel, budget travel, but I think all have been done (maybe the crunchy not so much). Perhaps a combination of all of these would be my unique angle – call it simplicity or something that encompasses it all….

2. Also, what I haven’t seen much of is a travel blog focused on the people (though I haven’t looked much). What if I focused my blog on the people I meet while traveling? I could start each post with “Meet x person” or some other sentence. OR each post could be a reflection based on a conversation I had/a person I met – “Today, I was chatting with x person and it got me thinking about…” This leaves me open to reflect, philosophize, write about experiences, etc. But it all starts with the conversation.

3. Lastly, I also have lots of learning goals – that really is the focus of my travels (learn spanish, learn about history, cultures, etc.). Perhaps I could do something with that?!

If you’ve read all this – THANK YOU!!! I would really appreciate a good discussion – ideas, suggestions, opinions, etc. And I’m always happy to join any conversations, check out a post of yours, etc. to help you out, too!

Happy new year y’all!!

Blogging 101 Is Around The Corner!

Dear friends,

Have you registered for Blogging 101 course yet? Course begins on January 4th so registration is soon going to close!

You can register here

I feel so many of us are thankful for Blogging University and 101 because it not only gave us skills but also brought us together as a cohesive group which is now Blogger’s World. 🙂

My intention behind joining Blogging 101 is apparent: I want to help new bloggers. 🙂
Getting help as a new blogger for the first time when I joined Blogging 101 in August was a feeling I can’t forget. It changed my blogging experience for better forever. 🙂 I want to pay back a little.

I feel if I make some friends we might keep interacting in blogosphere or they might join Blogger’s World too but that is not my prime goal. We blog about different things and resonate at different frequencies so we might not keep seeing each other afterwards but in the first few days if new bloggers get some feedback(any feedback) and some help(about basic technicalities) it will motivate them to do better. In about 3 weeks you can have a wonderful impact on growth of many bloggers, especially if many of us come together 🙂 Volunteers!

The August batch had many active members and our forum was created as an alumni forum first. Even November batch has given us some wonderful friends. In November session I observed that interacting with almost all bloggers used to take only 2-3 hours of my time per day. There were only a few very active members. 🙂

I feel if some of us friends join with a view to primarily help other bloggers and make new friends we will make this course a great place. Many new bloggers will get a feeling which will last for many months and build a foundation which will give their blogs a long life 🙂

What is in it for you? I feel peace and contentment, first and foremost. 🙂

Getting new friends and learning new things is added advantage but nothing matches the feeling of helping others without expecting anything in return. 🙂

Many members have registered. I guess, Rashmi, Piyusha, Vikram, Marica, Lou and Arpita are also joining. It is going to be a lot of fun!

If every one of us gives just 30 minutes to 1 hour everyday { I will try to give more if possible} this session will become one of the best. 🙂

I hope you will register and help new bloggers 🙂

Cracked Rear Viewer Turns 6 Months Old!

Since I’m new here at “Blogger’s World!”, I thought I’d introduce my site via today’s 6 month anniversary post. Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome!

cracked rear viewer

anniv1

It seems like just yesterday little CRV was born, but it was actually June 26, 2015! On that date I debuted my first post, a look at the early Peter Lorre noir The Face Behind the Mask. I was so green at the time I didn’t even know how to add pictures! Cracked Rear Viewer has come a long way since then, with a loyal following that seems to grow week by week. There’s now 154 posts (including this one) to choose from, covering everything from horror and science fiction to Western and gangster dramas to comedy classics. Though my main focus is films from the 1930’s to the 1970’s, I’ve occasionally stepped out of that box to look at movies from other eras. I’ve added ongoing series like CLEANING OUT THE DVR, THAT’S BLAXPLOITATION!, PRE-CODE CONFIDENTIAL, and the latest, ROCKIN’ N THE FILM WORLD, as well as NEWS & NOTES…
