An element of mystery a prompt by @sadhanacs. This was a hard one for me. I didn’t know what to chose. I think this photo has a element of mystery to it. I chose the Aussichtsturm(observation tower). The tower is the highest point in Killesberg Park, 174 steps!!! The tower overlooks the city of Stuttgart. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s photos:)
The next prompt is circles for @colettebates.
The prompt for me was ‘Perspective’, shared by @arwen1968.
Thank you for the prompt.
Perspective was a difficult and a very interesting prompt.
My take on it is this image.
There is a difference between how we see the world, and how he sees it. Even if we try to know his perspective on life, we shall never be able to understand it completely. Our life might be a rough road with many ups and downs, but his life is a constant struggle.
I hope I did a little justice to my prompt. This image has been clicked by Gaurav. (Can I please flaunt? 😛 my boyfriend) I asked him to share this image with me.
You can all join in by posting on the prompt ‘Perspective’ on your own blog before next Thursday (15th Sept) and leaving a link to your post in the comments below.
The prompt for you, @sadhanacs for 15th September is ‘Smoke’.
Have a great day everybody.
I have been given the opportunity to be the Schedule Incharge for Tuesday Trivia. I can’t explain how excited I am.
So, this is a shout out for all you beautiful members of Bloggers world. Please nominate yourself for the Tuesday Trivia feature. Since I try to nominate myself every month for this feature, I should confess it is really fun trying to find a few fun facts. Everybody should try it once.
Awaiting your response and nominations for 6th, 13th,20th, and 27th September.
Have a great week ahead.

OK, I did not think I would have to do this again, but here I am explaining why we have rules and why as admins we ask our members to adhere to these rules. This is what I know from my previous role as an Admin of this Forum and from my background working as an IT (Information Technology) Systems Analyst about maintaining an online forum/group.
Let us now analyze the confusing too hard to follow rules:
- The Basics! (As in the Guidelines from The Daily Post)
Please do not post photos (unless it is for a weekly feature or photo post feature), movies, music, & similar multimedia here.
|We have people in this forum connecting from different countries using different devices with access to the internet with varying speed. When the forum allows anyone and everyone to post content like photos, music and videos, it consumes more bandwidth to download, this becomes bothersome especially for people with slow internet connections as the site/page will either take forever to load or not load at all for them!
This is a forum for everyone’s use so a little consideration will not hurt anyone.
|Avoid posting original content better suited for blogs here.
||Instead post a link and tell us what your link is about and what you’d like feedback on. This way the members do not have to scroll forever if they do not want to read your post. We have a slot called ‘Guest Feature’ for those who wish to post original content.
|Please limit posting your blog link for feedback to just your own thread no more than 2 or 3 times a day.
Again, this is a forum for all members who are part of it. We (as in the admins) have the responsibility to ensure that everyone gets a fair chance to post links and feedback requests to their blog. If anyone and everyone who visits the forum just drops their link and leaves, then there would be nothing worthy in this forum other than a bunch of links!
|Be the lovely, respectful, and supporting individuals that you are.
||We are all writers. We are all in this forum hoping to receive and provide support to one another and in the process learn a little something too.
The only way I see for one to be supportive is by respectful, encouraging and understanding to other members.
We can always politely disagree with something – nothing wrong there so long as you are not directly attacking/bullying someone.
|Please respect copyright. Anything posted here should be your own work or you should have permission to share it.
Self-explanatory – you know, copyright issues!
These were the basic guidelines requested of the members. Now let’s move onto the next set of rules. Continue reading
I think I am jinxed!
When I go out of town, and wifey and Mom are home alone, I come back to find that they aren’t speaking with each other. When I switch on the TV to watch news after a week, I learn that America is left with not one candidate they want to really truly vote for in the coming elections. When I eat out and return home after dinner, I realize that wifey had made my favorite chhole-bhature for dinner, and when I decide to ditch the office party and arrive home in time for dinner, I end up shoveling down khichhadi!
So when I returned to Blogger’s World this morning (baited by Colette’s post,) I wasn’t surprised. It appears that the jinx is still strong for I once again see locked horns amidst clouds of steam rising from some heated discussions.
The point is – can we have a quick discussion on the rules of posting to the forum? Which are rules that we find most irksome? If each of us could list the rules we dislike, we could statistically come up with a list of, say, five rules that the majority wants to follow. As they would be OUR rules, conformance should improve (fingers-crossed, we never know with the Anandhotep-Types,) and we would feel more relaxed, posting, commenting, or even snapping at the heels of one-another.
Those among you who want to pack me up in a holdall and shunt me off to another galaxy would be glad to know that Mom and wifey would thank you for it, and even pay the price of the holdall.

This post is for all the members to comment upon…but I am tagging only the member I know personally and I trust that they’ll excuse my temerity.
It’s perhaps a bit early in the month but I like to be organised – besides which many of you might be going on holiday at some point and might not see this post for a while.
A quick reminder about Shutterbug Showcase: this is a weekly feature, running every Thursday. You are challenged to do a photo post on a topic named by the previous poster at the end of their post. Only one post – that of the person undertaking the challenge – will be published on Bloggers’ World (don’t forget to add the tags #photopost and #weekly). Everybody else is welcome to join in by posting responses to the same topic on their blog and linking to the photopost in the comments section.
Dates available for September are:
1 Sept: @arwen1968 (scheduler’s privilege, sorry! – I won’t abuse it often) 🙂
8 Sept: @niyati16
15 Sept: @sadhanacs
22 Sept: @adriennea3
29 Sept: @colettebates
Please comment on this post and tag me @arwen1968 to nominate yourself. Any questions, ditto.
@beckybwinch, @cathylynnbrooks, @colettebates, @darshith0000, @drmegsorick, @foodeezjunction, @himadas, @indira2412, @jaipurthrumylens, @jsackmom, @jennifernicholewells, @missams35, @mumbletymuse, @myusername432,@niciacruz, @niyati16,@piyushavir, @sashay909, @suzannebowditch, @surbhisachdeva89, @wordscoffeeandlacedresses, you’ve been tagged as you have either participated in this challenge already or you have expressed interest. Apologies if I missed out on anyone!
All other forum members are also welcome to nominate themselves!
I’m a great believer in live & let live and this is, after all, a forum to share. But I do rather object having to scroll through 7 posts by the same person, every single one of which is nothing more than the link to one of his/her posts with tags. The person in question has been told before by an admin – I remember the occasion – that this was not acceptable.
We all would like more readers – that’s what a blog is about in the end, I suppose – but this forum will only work if there is actually something worthwhile to read on it. Otherwise why would anyone come here at all?
I don’t buy tabloids because they bore me. I don’t read junk mail that comes through the letter box because it bores me. And I don’t read catalogues of items that I have no interest in because they bore me. You know what? I suspect that I’m not the only one!
Nobody will bother to read a forum which is only a catalogue of boring links.
So if you share a link here, have a specific question to ask that you need help with or second opinions on. If you just want to advertise a post that you’re proud of and want to draw as many people’s attention to it as possible, that’s fine too. But do us the courtesy of taking the trouble to write a post that entertains and hooks us – and we will click your link to read more. Why, we might even subscribe to your blog if we like it!
I deliberately didn’t name the – to me – offending person because I’m not interested in a witch hunt. I think the forum in general would benefit if all people kept to the principles above. (I know many of you do already.) Also this is only my personal opinion, nothing more.
Click ‘like’ if you agree.
The written word has the power to generate ideas, inspire revolutions, and change the way we view ourselves and our place in history. Nowhere is this power clearer than in the works of the authors in this list!
These writers changed the world and its writing with their style and beliefs, and the works they created — from fictional epics to philosophical creeds — have had a lasting impact on people and cultures around the world. (And more than a few have won the Nobel Prize to prove it.)
I love writing lists and for this week’s Author story, I decided to put together a list of ten writers who changed the world with their writing.
Do check them out. Who would you like to add to this list?
