Used it for the January & February watchlist and the Heroes post.

Finally.. a new post

Pff..I’ve had some trouble focussing on my blog the last week… Apologies for any unanswered messages!! I will reply… I promise 🙂 I’ve had such a hectic week and am starting a brand new job tomorrow (exciting!), so I haven’t been able to spend as much time on writing as I wanted to.

But… tadaa… here is a new post after all: “How art connects you, me & the slums of Kenya”.

I hope you guys enjoy it 😀
And don’t feel shy answering the question at the bottom of the post. I’m really curious what the answers will be!

How to create a good facebook ‘card’ for blog posts

I was wondering if you guys know how to create a proper facebook/twitter card for WordPress blog posts? Every time I share a post on social media the image gets cropped and it just displays the first few sentences from my post. Instead, I would like to custom write the first sentences it shows on social media and make sure the image is shown properly.

Do you guys know how I can do that??
Thnx 🙂

Bill Gates got our memo

I’d love to get some feedback on this one.. It was one of those posts which was clear as day in my mind but turned out to be a bit of a struggle to write. Am curious what you guys think of it and whether it reads ‘smoothly’.

Thanks!!

From writers block to best-shared article

I just wanted to take a minute to share my joy with you guys. Last week I was experiencing my first official writers block. I’ve had a bit of a tough year which is finally taking a good turn. Which is good…but can be a bit overwhelming as well. That, in combination with a kick-ass flu, resulted in a drop in inspiration…to say the least. So I thought…you know what… I don’t need to be inventive to write. Let’s write about something which is already amazing. To keep a long story short.. I created a new feature on my blog called Heroes. In the heroes section, I plan to write about small, lesser known, ngo’s & charities which do amazing work but are not as ‘famous’ as the big ones such as Oxfam, Unicef etc.

I started with a post about the White Helmets in Syria. These guys and gals truly do amazing work and are the embodiments of humanity in a war-torn country. The response was amazing and truly encouraging. Not only did I receive the kindest response from the White Helmets themselves, the post also got many many retweets and kind direct messages as a result.

I am so happy to be able to share the stories of such inspiring people and hopefully contribute in a small way by bringing these do-gooders together with their future supporters.

If you guys now any local ngo’s/charities who are true heroes… do let me know!

Bye bye writers blog :)

I created a new ‘section’ on my blog called ‘Heroes’. The idea is to use it as a platform to present smaller, lesser known charities which do amazing work. The first heroes are the White Helmets from Syria. Give them a thumbs up! They deserve it!!
