Chat Room?

Dear friends,

I have been getting suggestions about developing a chat room here on the forum so that uninterrupted light-hearted discussions might be carried on.

I have been to many forums with chat rooms but here since we have everything front-end I wonder how that might be possible. If tech-savvy friends know a way around let’s know 🙂

This was on my mind for many days so I have put it before you today. Let me know what you think 🙂

I agree that one is needed and was close to suggesting one several times, but I what I think we need even more is perhaps a DM system….I think all of WordPress needs that, to be honest. Anyways, in terms of chat rooms, I don’t know how to build one from scratch, but perhaps take a look at https://www.chatzy.com/ and just set the password to ‘Bloggers World’ or something. The downside would be that its external from the site, but at least it should hopefully save this place from being clogged up with 100’s of completely unrelated comments and allow us to get closer to one another in a less-formal way.

I think it’s a great idea too! On a related note, is there a way to use the FB page for that? Or aren’t enough people involved with it? That would address the DM question, too, right? @iamdonovan @thinkerv0 @kristinavanhoos

A group can be created in facebook and we can keep it private/restricted entries. There people can discuss on things they want to. But, some other specified thing will be better 🙂

Great to know about this. A chat room will definitely avoid clogging of posts and comments made in the forum. Hope the chat room gets activated soon and all the best to @kristinavanhoos to find a way to work it out 🙂
